We handle your personal data in line with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 (as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025) and PECR. We don't sell personal data.
What we collect and why
When you order: your name, delivery and billing address, email address, and phone number if you give one. We keep a record of what you bought and when. Payment is handled by Wix Payments / Stripe / PayPal - we never see your full card details, only the card type and last four digits. We need this information to fulfil our contract with you, and we keep transaction records for six years because tax law requires it.
When you contact us: whatever you send us, plus your contact details, so we can reply. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a business and answering customers.
When you visit the site: your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages and products viewed, and approximate location derived from your IP. This is collected by Wix, which hosts our site. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working out what's useful, and on your consent for any non-essential cookies.
When you subscribe: your email address, your consent, and whether our emails were opened or clicked. We send these on the basis of your consent, or —- if you're already a customer and we're telling you about similar products — on the soft opt-in permitted by PECR. Unsubscribe any time using the link in any email.
Cookies
Our site is built on Wix, which sets cookies in four categories: essential (session, basket, security - always on, since the site won't work without them), functional (remembering preferences), analytics (how the site is used), and advertising.
How long we keep it
Order and transaction records: six years from the end of the relevant financial year.
Customer emails: 2 years.
Website analytics: period set in Wix.
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or send it to another provider. You can object to processing we've based on legitimate interests, object to direct marketing at any time, and withdraw consent whenever you like.
Complaints
If you think we've mishandled your data, you have a legal right to complain to us directly. Email hello@dahdastaste.com with "Data protection complaint" in the subject line, or write to us at the address above. We'll acknowledge it within 30 days, look into it, and tell you the outcome.
